ADRs mostly end at lower levels; Compagnie de Saint-Gobain actively trades

International stock trading in New York closed mostly down on Thursday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon Index for US Depository Receipts fell 0.3% to 126.61. The European index was down 0.4% at 118.30, the Asian index fell 0.6% to 151.48, the Latin American index was up 2.1% at 187.95 and the emerging market index was down 0.6% at 263.37.

Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA and GSK plc were among the companies with ADRs that actively traded.

Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA’s ADRs fell 1.8% after the company received all outstanding regulatory approvals for its acquisition of US peer GCP Applied Technologies Inc. The all-cash deal, previously valued at $2.3 billion, will be completed next week.

GSK plc’s ADR increased by 0.8% after the company said it signed an exclusive license agreement with Sphero Therapeutics Inc. to commercialize tebipenem HBr, an antibiotic that can treat complicated urinary tract infections . The potential treatment is currently in late-stage studies.
