“Let us begin today’s bulletin with news of “Avengers: Endgame.” Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man sacrifices himself to save the universe, it’s a bittersweet note (well, for Tony Stark fans). Endgame was touted to be Downey Jr.’s last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though fans have been hopeful that some miraculous reversal may occur and the character may return.
Recently, it was revealed that Jon Favreau, who directed Iron Man and starred as Happy Hogan in the movies, actually tried hard to save the character and even the directors of Endgame, Joe and Anthony Rousseau begged.

Meanwhile, Judy Greer, Alison Pill and Alexander Skarsgard are set to star in Eric LaRue, the feature directorial debut of Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon. As Deadline reports, in Chicago in 2002, ‘A An official adaptation of a play of the same title by Brett Neveau that debuted at the ‘Red Orchid Theatre’, the film’s cast also includes Paul Sparks, Tracy Letts, Annie Paris and Kate Arrington.
Neveu is on board with the project as he is adapting his original play, which he wrote in response to the 1999 mass shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado. The story follows Janice, the mother of 17-year-old Eric, who shot and killed three of her classmates.
Moving on, Hollywood star Will Smith recently took to his Instagram handle to break the silence on his infamous Oscar slap. Smith said he was “deeply sorry” for slapping his wife Jada Pinkett Smith after presenter Chris Rock mocked her.
Smith answered some of the questions that have been doing the rounds of the internet about his impending apology. The actor began by answering the question – “Why didn’t you apologize to Chris Rock in the acceptance speech?” In his reply, Smith stated that he reached out to Rock, who was not “ready to speak”. He continued, “I’ll tell you, Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.

In other news, Hollywood studio MGM is working on Drago, a spin-off of the boxing drama film ‘Creed.’ Will focus on the Russian boxer, whom he portrayed in 1985’s “Rocky IV”, as well as his son Victor Drago, who debuted in Creed II.
The Creed series, led by Michael B. Jordan, is a spin-off of Sylvester Stallone’s iconic Rocky franchise. Lawton had previously written a specific script about the making of Rocky’s first film, ‘Becoming Rocky’. Although the studio did not proceed with his film idea, it hired Lawton to create a backstory about Drago. ,
Meanwhile, Netflix recently released the first trailer for Marilyn Monroe’s upcoming biopic ‘Blonde.’ and is touted as Netflix’s big Oscar drama this year.
Shot in both black and white and color, and in various aspect ratios, the film examines Marilyn Monroe, the real person behind the star. The two-minute trailer contains several glimpses of Monroe’s glamorous life, and her personal struggles with fame and addiction.
After premiering in competition at the Venice International Film Festival, the film will be released on Netflix on September 28.
In some exciting news, Jason Momoa revealed in an Instagram post that Ben Affleck will be returning as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which was believed to have wrapped up filming. The announcement was made after the group ‘busted’ the sets, which saw both the actors together.
Momoa also shared a video of the tour group outside the trailer and attached photos of him and Affleck together. Affleck appeared as Bruce Wayne in costume and makeup. Momoa commented, laughing, “Well, we tried to keep it a secret! That’s what happens, Warner Bros., when you walk off the set and we have fans…”

Moving forward, Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed last year’s Marvel hits Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, has been roped in by the studio to direct Avengers: The Kong Dynasty.

The announcement comes days after studio head Kevin Feige announced two new Avengers movies at San Diego Comic-Con, the other being Secret Wars.

According to Deadline, Marvel Studios will now try to add a writer to the project as meetings are currently underway. The film, a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster hit Avengers: Endgame, will focus on Kang, the new main villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by Jonathan Majors.
