Zoe Saldana’s kids keep her “out of trouble.”
The 44-year-old actress has seven-year-old twins Bowie and Cy and five-year-old Zane with her husband Marco, and Zoe believes they are one of the keys to her youthful appearance.
She shared: “I think having kids hurts me a lot. I fall asleep quicker. I eat better. I sleep longer sometimes. I’m back to sleep.”
The Hollywood star has changed her lifestyle since becoming a mother.
Zoe is now more self-disciplined than ever – and she thinks it’s paying dividends.
The actress — who married Marco in 2013 — told People: “I was having a lot of problems with my sleep. While I was very much on a hard, hard work policy just before I had him.
“And I used to love my life that way. But I feel like having kids at the right time for me because in your late thirties to early thirties, when you go to bed thinking that you are one thing, and you wake up feeling something else.”
Meanwhile, Zoe discusses the challenge of raising three young boys first.
The actress thinks she “would have been great as a mother of daughters” – but she is “accepting the challenge” of raising her sons.
Speaking in 2020, Zoe joked: “Should have been the third one [a daughter] And then my husband doesn’t give it to any girl.
“I would have been great as a mother of daughters, but the universe, in its own irony, and how I became the mother of three boys—the #MeToo movement [means] I am accepting the challenge.”
Zoe relishes the chance to “parent” her sons.
She said: “I see and really nurture a young boy before I witness, and I think that’s work for us moms too.”
