Politics of Vengeance Behind Sanjay Raut’s Arrest: Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray | India News

New Delhi: Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray Said on Monday that “vendetta politics” was behind the arrest Sanjay Raut, who has been charged in a money laundering case. “We have to eliminate those who speak against us… this is the mindset of those who do vendetta politics,” Thackeray said.
The Shiv Sena chief made the remarks after meeting Raut’s family members.
Enforcement Directorate Raut’s 8-day custody has been sought in a money laundering case related to the redevelopment of a chawl in Mumbai.

The agency official had raided Raut’s house on Sunday. After several hours of interrogation, they took him into custody. According to sources, ED officials seized unaccounted cash worth Rs 11.5 lakh from the residence.
Before the arrest, Sanjay Raut’s brother had said that “BJP was afraid of Raut and got him arrested”.
On his way to the ED office on Sunday, Raut had told reporters that he was “not one to be afraid”. “False allegations and documents are being prepared against people. All this is being done to weaken Shiv Sena and Maharashtra. I will not bow down and I will not leave the party,” he said.
