Nifty Metal index today closed 3.86% higher at 5485.8. The index has increased by 15.00% in the last one month. Among constituents, Tata Steel Ltd jumped 7.22%, Welspun Corp Ltd jumped 6.38% and Hindalco Industries Ltd jumped 5.77%.

The Nifty Metal index has lost 6.00% in the past one year as compared to the 8.74% spike in the benchmark Nifty 50 index. Among other indices, Nifty Commodity Index rose 2.46% and Nifty PSE Index rose 1.87%. Among the broader markets, Nifty 50 closed 1.35% higher at 17158.25, while Sensex ended 1.25% higher at 57570.25 today.
