Russell Westbrook announced that he is moving to the LA . opening store in
Russell Westbrook remains a member of the Los Angeles Lakers after months of conflicting rumors about his future. The uncertainty has led Lakers loyalists to read the little things that the 2017 NBA MVP may or may not start the 2022-23 season.
Earlier in September, LA fans were put on alert when reports claimed Westbrook had listed their $30 million Brentwood mansion for sale. However, the 33-year-old guard has owned the property since 2018, meaning it’s unlikely the listing offers any clues as to where the nine-time All-Star will play in 2022-23.
Now, Westbrook itself has woken up to social media spies, announcing the opening of its store in LA on Saturday:

Westbrook didn’t provide any details about what type of store it was opening — but it’s likely to be a fashion outlet as guards have previously been seen wearing T-shirts with the phrase “honour the gift.”
Also, like in the case of house listings, the announcement doesn’t necessarily point to a guard living with the Lakers, who may be considering exploring various business ventures.
In July, Westbrook said he wanted to “build a venture” out of court, heavily involved in all of his projects to make sure he could secure his family’s future. Guard has already invested in the advertising industry as well as in real estate, education and his bigger passions – fashion.
Westbrook dyed her hair blue around a white patch in the shape of a star at the Met Gala last year. In a brief interview during the event, the Lakers playwright said he’s not afraid to wear any outfit if he thinks it looks cool—and that he wants to be a fashion “icon.”
Lakers ‘strongly consider’ Westbrook off bench
While Westbrook’s business projects are going well, he is likely to face a tough 2022–23 season in the NBA. In addition to the Lakers reportedly still wanting to trade guard, the latest rumors claim he could start playing on the bench for the first time in his career if he stays in LA.
It appears Westbrook will have to outsmart Patrick Beverly and Dennis Schröder for the opening role with new head coach Darwin Hamm ready to make tough decisions if they think they will benefit the entire team.
