Stock Market Live: Nifty, Sensex, Q1 Results, BSE, NSE, Zomato, ITC, RBI Policy

On Monday morning, the Indian markets opened in a positive range on the BSE. The Nifty 50 rose 50 points to 17,222 levels, while the S&P BSE Sensex rose 0.2 per cent to 57,823 levels.

Broader markets were also upbeat in trading with Nifty Midcap 100 and Nifty Smallcap 100 rising up to 0.5 per cent.

In the sector, Nifty Auto and Nifty Media made headlines with a rise of up to 2 percent in business.

Among individual stocks, UPL shares rose 2.09 per cent ahead of their June quarter results (Q1FY23). Moreover, Zee Entertainment shares rose 3.6 per cent after the exchanges approved the merger with Sony Pictures Networks India.

With comments from US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell dismissing fears of a recession and once again maintaining a stance after the economy is back on track, analysts expect the Reserve Bank of India to hold the August 3-5 meeting.
